Meet Susan Ann Marion, M.S.
Founder of Prep For Independence
Susan Ann Marion, M.S., is the visionary behind Prep For Independence, a groundbreaking program dedicated to empowering individuals with essential financial and life skills. With over 25 years as an addictions counselor and a deeply personal journey through financial struggles, Susan blends professional expertise with lived experience to create a program that bridges the gap between knowledge and real-world application.
Inspired by her own challenges—like living paycheck to paycheck despite advanced degrees—Susan realized the critical need for financial literacy. Determined to make a difference, she leveraged her counseling background and the latest technology to bring Prep For Independence to life in 2024. Today, her phased, gamified approach equips participants with practical tools for budgeting, managing credit, and achieving true independence.
Meet Eddie Marmol
Susan's Sidekick
Eddie Marmol is a world-class coach specializing in guiding senior executives and technical professionals through critical transitions and leadership transformations. He also has BS and MS degrees in computer engineering and strives to provide rigor, quality, and intuitiveness to the Prep For Independence (PFI) framework. As an executive coach since the year 2000, Eddie has helped leaders build trust, communicate effectively, and create thriving organizational cultures.
Eddie was born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico. He’s fluent in both English and Spanish. Eddie is also married to Susan and together they form a highly complementary team.
Susan’s genius lies in identifying possibilities and opportunities. She’s also very imaginative in her solutions. Eddie then provides discernment, structure, and discipline to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks. Our golden doodle, Milo, rounds out the team. He makes sure we laugh a lot, wag our virtual tails, and infuse this work with love.
